Alhaji Abubakar Idris, the Emir of Okuta in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State has said the most effective way to curb Boko Haram attacks in the country is to identify their source of arms.
The insurgents are known to have sophisticated weapons.
Speaking with newsmen, Alh. Abubakar said the Federal government should not bother about the insurgents for now, but rather they should be concerned about their sponsors and how they get their weapons.
"We have heard that Nigerian soldiers do not have the kind of sophisticated weapons they are using and we are busy trying to fish out those who are shooting; those who are committing the havoc. Why not the source? Who are the people masterminding this? Who are the makers of these sophisticated weapons? They said the insurgents are from Niger or Cameroon. Who is so buoyant and what group of people in Cameroun are so buoyant to sponsor them," he said.
Expressing concern over the incessant attacks by the dreaded sect across various states in the country, Alh. Abubakar called on the Nigerian government to collaborate with world powers to contain the insurgency.
